I'm currently enrolled in the Master in International Administration and Global Governance at the University of Gothenburg. Prior to relocating to Sweden, I acquired an honor’s degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. As an undergraduate student, I excelled at drafting reports and acting as a team leader to facilitate collaboration in team environments. Complementing these studies, I developed my skill base through postgraduate course work at the University of Ottawa where I earned a post graduate certificate in Public Management. My education has provided me the knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel as an tutor.
Experience
I am writing to express my interest in applying for an English tutor position. My interest in teaching began while tutoring international students to improve their English language skills at Carleton University and volunteering to help new immigrants learn English at my local community center. These experiences allowed me to learn valuable techniques for teaching English to a diverse group of students. Since completing these projects, I further developed the skills and experience required to excel as an English tutor. I have a diverse employment and internship record. In my previous role as a Benefits Officer, I have acquired five years of experience providing program delivery support to the Department of Human Resources and Skill Development Canada in the Canadian federal government. In this role, I developed training material and provided teaching sessions to a diverse group of public service professionals. Further, I have also enjoyed participating in internships with civic sector organizations to support their education and program objectives. These experiences have allowed me to strengthen my teaching, cross-cultural communication and collaborative team work skills.
